Glaucoma, Cataract and Phaco surgery
Prof. Dr. M. Hafizur Rahman, Renowned Glaucoma Specialist & Consultant Phaco surgeon, currently working as Consultant at Bangladesh Eye Hospital-Banani, Hikmah Eye Hospital-Khilgaon, Center for Phaco-surgery & Glaucoma (CPG)-Basabo and Bangladesh Bank. He is the former Head of Ophthalmology Department at Ad-din Medical College Hospital, Moghbazar, Dhaka and Former Head of Glaucoma Services at Ispahani Islamia Eye Hospital, Farmgate, Dhaka.
Prof. Rahman is one of the leading Glaucoma consultant and Phaco Surgeon in Bangladesh. He is working to prevent blindness due to cataract and glaucoma from this country. He is used to utilize the latest techniques and equipments to ensure the highest standards of eye care. He is practicing on Cataract & Phaco surgery for more than 22 years and on Glaucoma for more than 20 years. He is the pioneer of many techniques in glaucoma and cataract surgeries.
Prof. Hafizur Rahman graduated MBBS from University of Rajshahi in 1999. Later he obtained FCPS (Fellowship) in Ophthalmology in 2005. He had post graduate training and fellowship on Phacoemulsification from Islamia Ispahany Eye Institute in 2006 and fellowship on Glaucoma from LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India in 2007. He has training on Visual Field Analysis-Glaucoma from Germany in 2014.
Prof. Rahman the executive member of the Bangladesh Glaucoma Society. He is trying to aware about glaucoma to the general population of Bangladesh. He is doing charity work for rural people for 20 years and he is the founder and Chairman of Ashrafia Eye Foundation, Jessore where he is working to eradicate blindness among rural population.
Interested in research, Prof. Hafizur Rahman is the author or co-author of over 25 medical and scientific papers. Along with presentations in the Bangladesh national conferences, He presented papers in SAARC and World Glaucoma Conferences in Finland & Hong Kong. He is specially interested for Complex cataract, PACG, Congenital glaucoma and complex glaucoma cases.
Prof. Hafizur Rahman was born in Jashore in 1975. He completed schooling both primary and secondary from his village in 1990, then he went to MM college, Jashore where he completed higher secondary schooling in 1992. Then he was influenced by his friends and family to become doctor.
